Everything or Nothing?

God our Father has made all things depend on faith so that whoever has faith will have everything, and whoever does not have faith will have nothing. – Martin Luther

I wanted to take a minute to share with you some things that God has put in my spirit recently, in hopes that it will strengthen your faith.  Over the years I have heard many different descriptions of faith and sermons about faith.  At times we hear so much about faith, that our understanding of it becomes clouded.  This quote that I have included from Martin Luther keeps the concept of faith very simple and clear.  Basically,  Luther says have faith and have everything…or have no faith and have nothing.  I definitely like the “everything” side of the equation.  Having faith sounds easy, but why at times is it so hard to have?  Part of the answer is that we let circumstances dictate our level of faith.  Therefore, we keep ourselves from receiving all that God has for us.  Does this mean we should just quit striving to have more faith?  Of course not!  In the future when you have a circumstance that is causes your faith to be tested…ask yourself…DO I WANT ALL OR NOTHING?  The Bible says that God shall supply all your needs according His riches.  We’d like to think we can comprehend that but lets get real for a second…we can’t even contain all his riches.  Having faith says we can have everything, so we should strive for everything.
