Back to School Outreach

10 Aug

Project 20/20 is the first outreach project of Foundation Community Church. The mission is to provide backpacks and school supplies to children that would not otherwise have them. The goal for the inaugural year is 20 backpacks and supplies for 20 children.  These backpacks will be distributed to children at Linden Elementary in Hamilton, Ohio.  Carla Castator is heading up the project. “As a teacher,” she says, “I am passionate about providing every student with a positive school experience.”

Participation in the project is simple and will provide a child with the essentials for a successful school year! Those interested helping are simply asked to buy an age-appropriate (K-6) backpack and fill it with much needed school supplies. Only 4 more backpacks are needed to reach the goal of 20! As this ministry grows, so will the goal. The goal for the future of this project is 20 backpacks for 20 schools!

Anyone interested in participating and helping Project 20/20 reach its goal should contact Carla at carla.castator@yahoo.com. In order to get these supplies to students for the start of the school year, the deadline for all filled backpacks is August 21, 2011.
